Woman Follows Heart, Marries Terminal Boyfriend. After Changing Diets, Cancer Disappears
Rob Mooberry and his future wife Amanda met while working at the Cosmopolitan Hotel in Las Vegas.
Amanda was a cocktail waitress, and Rob, a bartender. Once they began dating, they knew it was love.
Rob wasn’t acting normal and was quickly losing weight. He would complain of stomach pains and within a year, he’d lost 60 lbs.
The couple went to numerous doctors, but none could figure out what was wrong. Finally, a surgeon decided to do an exploratory surgery, “because no healthy man loses 60 pounds in one year.”
After the surgery, they received devastating news: Rob had stage four terminal colorectal cancer. During the exploratory surgery, doctors removed a fist-sized tumor.
But the news only got worse. The cancer had already spread to his aorta track, his lymphoids, and his bladder.
Doctors estimated he only had a few weeks left to live.
That night, as they processed the news, Rob realized he didn’t have time to waste. “That night, as I laid in the hospital bed next to Rob, he turned to me and whispered, ‘I want to get married.'”
“So do I,” Amanda said. So while Rob was on his two-week leave from the hospital before chemotherapy, the two tied the knot.
And two days after getting married, Rob began treatment. After his first round, however, he still showed no signs of improvement.
But instead of continuing with radiation and chemo, they decided to stop and instead take a holistic treatment approach.
“We both changed our diets to strictly vegan, experimented with different herbs, and even did coffee enemas,” Amanda said.
Their doctors told them they were crazy to do so. But miraculously, after just three weeks, Rob’s cancer was 80% gone!
By December 2014, all signs of the cancer had vanished completely.
Thankful for Rob’s health, the couple knew they wanted to start a family together. Because Rob’s radiation made it very unlikely that they could get pregnant on their own, they turned to IVF.
After a heartbreaking miscarriage, they soon became pregnant with twins. The new parents welcomed their babies into the world in 2016.
“It’s crazy to think that a few years ago we had all the odds stacked against us, but it just goes to show you that love can create miracles,” Amanda said.
