Husky Left To Die on Streets After Being Hit by Vehicle Until Rescuer Takes Her Home

Don’t you find yourself amazed at the injuries and damage an animal can survive? From starvation to fight-related injury to outright abuse, many creatures show a surprising resilience.

It’s more than just mere survival. We may not find ourselves all that surprised to learn that an animal somehow scraped through a debilitating injury.

Rather, it’s their ability not only to simply weather adversity that’s amazing, but their ability to thrive after it. It’s that factor which makes the story of one Indonesian husky so amazing.

Bali resident Rico Soegiarto couldn’t even tell the dog’s breed the first time he saw her on the street. According to StoryTrender, the animal weighed a mere nine pounds.

Starvation had thinned its face to rat-like severity, presenting an ugly, murine snout. Every joint and bone jutted out through a thin, matted coat of fur.

That wasn’t even the worst of the dog’s injuries. Soegiarto also found large wounds on its legs.

Somewhere around that time, he decided he would adopt the animal. The decision didn’t make any sort of rational sense, especially because Soegiarto already had a pet.

“I don’t know what was special about her. It’s about heart and feeling,” he told Bored Panda.

Well, the 26-year-old man poured both into her. “I quickly brought her home on my motorbike and gave her a bath,” he recalled.

“After that I rushed her to a veterinarian, who cured her open wounds. The doctor said she was malnourished and had scabies.”

Soon the newly christened Hope began to respond to all of the kind treatment. Her coat grew thick and lustrous.

Her frame began to fill out as she put on weight, and that was when everyone could begin to tell she was a husky. She began to want to frisk and play, according to the U.K. Mirror.

Only one thing remained constant: her piercing blue eyes. In fact, Hope’s recovery was so thorough that it has become something of a concern for Soegiarto.

“She is so sociable that she worries me sometimes,” he said. “There are many thieves in Bali.”

However, Soegiarto is happy that he went the extra mile to help. He hopes that his example will inspire others to similar action.

“If I can save a dog’s life, others can too,” he said. “And trust me, if you adopt a dog, that dog will love you more than anyone else.”
