Luke Perry’s Daughter Shares Emotional Photos Days Before First Father’s Day Since Star’s Death
For children, few losses are harder than the death of a parent. Mothers and fathers are like stars in the night sky, bright lights by which you can chart your life’s course.
When they wink out, it’s like the universe itself has plunged into darkness.
A recent social media post from Sophie Perry, the daughter of the late television actor Luke Perry (“90210,” “Riverdale”), reminds us of that fact.
Sophie decided to celebrate her first Father’s Day without her dad by sharing some rare images of them together. On her Instagram page, she posted a trio of photos with Perry.
The first showed an infant Sophie staring directly into the camera. Still in the bloom of babyhood, she is bald as the proverbial cue ball, her toothless mouth agape, her dark eyes wide.
Meanwhile, Perry looks hardly older than his “90210” days. Shaved, shirtless and with almost shoulder-length hair, he gazes at his daughter with affection.

The next picture features a Sophie who is 3 or 4 years old sitting in a rocking chair far too big for her, a neatly wrapped present in her lap.
A causally dressed Perry is perched beside her, looking a little older — and still delighted with his little girl.
Finally, the last snap features a young Sophie and Perry playing together. The little girl is dressed in a ruffled outfit of some kind that smacks of stage clothing.
Sophie stares down at the ground, lost in thought. Meanwhile, Perry has cast his eyes toward heaven, as if waiting for something.
You only have to look at his hand to understand what for. He’s clutching a pink toy microphone and waiting for his little girl to sing.
Sophie captioned the photos with the three most precious words in the English language: “I love you.”
She wasn’t the only one to celebrate her dad. Back in March, Today reported that her brother, Jack Perry, shared an Instagram tribute to their father.
“He was a lot of things to a lot of people. To me, he was always Dad,” Jack wrote.
“He loved and supported me in everything, and inspired me to be the best that I could possibly be. I’ve learned so much from you, and my heart is broken thinking about everything you won’t be here for.”

Heavy.com reported that Perry died on March 4 due to complications from a stroke. The actor had suffered from a number of health scares for years.
According to Pop Culture, Perry’s children had come from his relationship with Rachel “Minnie” Sharp. The couple had divorced in 2003, but apparently they stayed cordial with one another.
When Perry died, not only were Sophia and Jack by his side, but Sharp was, too — just the way it should be.
