For 7 Years, Woman Prayed Over Tie She Purchased To Give to Her Future Husband
Looking for one’s future spouse is something of a nerve-wracking experience. So much is bound up in finding a fitting match.
It is no wonder that people through the years have turned to mementos and sweet romantic gestures. They help us clarify in our thoughts what we want in a mate.
Sometimes, though, they seem to do more than that. Sometimes they appear downright prophetic, as though steered by the very hand of God.
On Medium, Precious Okhimamhe penned a letter to her future husband that encapsulates the desires of so many women.
“With every dawn of a new day, I wake up thanking God over and over again for blessing me with your existence,” she wrote.
“I love how you allow us talk about everything and anything no matter how uncomfortable it might be. … Babe, I love you for being the man who leads the family to prayer and fellowship with God most times, even during the days when I’m too weak to do anything.”
Victoria Laniakea penned a similar missive to her future husband back in 2015, long before she’d entered into a serious relationship. According to Fox News, the Canberra, Australia, resident found herself seemingly compelled to write to someone she didn’t yet know.
“It just came to me one day,” she explained. “An idea just formed and I started writing.”
Eventually, she met and married a man named Philippe Lorrain. When she reviewed the letter, she was shocked at how closely it described the man who became her husband.
“It’s very personal but I could not believe how perfectly it described Philippe and our story, the things he’d later say to me, like how he was glad he hadn’t met me sooner because we both needed to grow into the people we needed to be at the moment we finally met. Like how he is strong but gentle, he has and could weather any storm, but still takes insects he finds in the house outside instead of killing them.”
Tami Acree had something similar happen. Yet she had approached the idea of her future husband with much more intention — and the end result was even more eerie.
According to a post she shared on Facebook, Acree had purchased a tie when she was a sophomore in college. She wanted something to remind her to pray for her future husband.
“For seven years, it hung on my bed or my dresser mirror, and more times than I can count, it led me to pray God would encourage, grow, and spiritually develop my someday-husband into the man of God I desired. I always meant to give it to my husband as a momento on our wedding day.”
Over time, Acree met a young man named Caleb. They caught each other’s eyes, and as one thing led to another, they decided to become forever partners.
On the night before their wedding, Acree went to give the tie to him and realized something amazing: The tie’s pattern matched their wedding colors.
She wrote, “I had such a special moment with the Lord. He knew even before I bought that tie seven years ago that Caleb was the man I was praying for and He orchestrated it in His perfect timing!
“I didn’t tell Caleb to wear it, I just gave it to him like I always meant to. And as I’m walking down the aisle towards him, one of the things I will always remember is seeing Caleb and seeing he is wearing my prayer-soaked tie.”
