Wrestling Team Spends Snow Day Plowing Neighborhood Driveways with Incredible Speed

Share

It’s a cold time in America right now, and most of the country is struggling with seriously frigid temperatures right now.

In fact, WPIX has reported that three-quarters of people in the United States are currently experiencing weather that’s below freezing. People have died in parts of Minnesota and Illinois.

CNN meteorologist Tom Sater put it well when he said that people 25 years old and younger have “never felt this cold before.” In other words, it might be time to consider moving to Florida.

But for those not fortunate enough to live in the Sunshine State, they have more than mere cold to deal with. They also have to manage the snow.

Blizzards are shutting down schools, crowding highways, and turning airports into parking lots. But one group of industrious high school students is using the cold to do some good for their fellow man.

According to TMJ, much of Wisconsin has found itself blanketed by snow. The town of Lamira ended up shutting the doors of its high school.

However, the Lamira High School wrestling team didn’t choose to spend the day watching reruns or playing Fortnite. Instead, they helped clear the driveways of their neighbors — and what a job they did of it, too.

Video shows the athletes plowing said driveways. The most impressive part of the whole thing is how quickly they did it.

The boys lined up with almost military precision, their shovels sliding along the concrete. They marched up the driveway toward the house.

Each one then cut across the driveway. In effect, the boys transformed the driveway’s long rectangle into thin lines.

One quick swoop and toss with their shovels, and the majority of the snow was gone. Not all of the snow was gone, of course.

A relatively thin dusting remained. So a few of the wrestlers went back over their spots just to finish off what remained.

The 27-second-long video didn’t show the entirety of the shoveling job. But it’s hard to imagine that it lasted much longer than that.

On Facebook, the Lomira Booster Club posted pictures of the boys working. It also showered them with praise for their industriousness.

“We are so incredibly proud of our Lomira High School Wrestling team for spending their day off of school AGAIN helping others with snow removal!” it read. “Thank you to all of them and also a huge shout out to Jamie Feucht (our Booster Club President) for organizing and working alongside the boys.

“We are hearing such positive feedback from so many community members. We are proud of these amazing athletes.”
