After 4 Years of Walking, Single Mom of Boy with Autism Receives New Car from Christian Company

When a company focuses on giving back to their community, that generally makes us want to support that company and buy their products, right?

Just look at Chick-fil-A! While they definitely have the best chicken sandwiches, strips and nuggets around, their values and principles are truly what make them a great business.

Burly Man Coffee — a Christian, subscription-style coffee company based in Florida — has stepped up to the plate, especially when it comes to helping single mothers in need.

“We support struggling single moms and families with every purchase,” the company’s website states.

“Through our charitable program, we are able to help struggling mothers get back on their feet by providing food, clothing, vehicles, assistance with mounting bills, medical care, and sustainable financial planning.”

One of those mothers is Celeste Bokstrom from Lake Worth, Florida. Bokstrom supports her autistic 16-year-old son, Logan, full time.

The pair lives out of a garage-turned-studio-apartment, and for the past four years they have walked wherever they need to go. The struggling mom saved up $2,000 at one point to buy a car, only to learn the heartbreaking news that the car had been sold to her by someone who had stolen it. When she attempted to register the vehicle, the state took it away.

Will you try Burly Man Coffee after seeing how they've helped this single mom?

“I was shocked and extremely disappointed,” Bokstrom told Burly Man. “It took me a long time to save up enough money to buy a car. I lost it all in a moment. I was devastated.”

Burly Man Coffee has made it their goal to donate 100 cars to single moms who need them, according to the company’s blog.

Bokstrom shared her heartbreaking story and all the battles she’s faced over the last 16 years. From Logan seizing in her arms following his 11-month-old vaccinations to dealing with the day-to-day challenges of caring for a child with special needs, this mom needs what the company calls “a hand-up.”

They gave her that hand up in March 2019 when they launched their “charitable giving” program. Not only did Burly Man Coffee provide Bokstrom with a shopping spree and makeover, they also gave her an iPad, along with other gifts that will help Logan — who is non-verbal — communicate and find comfort.

But the company didn’t stop there. They knew what having their own transportation would mean for Bokstrom and her son, which is why they gave her a brand-new car.

Bokstrom broke down into tears when presented with the stellar surprise. Her reaction was captured in a heartwarming video the company shared on YouTube.

“I had no idea this was going to happen to me,” Bokstrom said. “I had faith and believed that God knew my struggles, but I never expected this. Receiving a car has changed my world. And Logan is now getting the help he deserves. I’m so grateful. Burly Man Coffee has changed our lives for the better.”

Thanks to Burly Man, Logan will also receive Neurofeedback therapy from the Director of Center for Brain Mike Cohen in Jupiter, Florida. Through this therapy the autistic teen will hopefully be able to better communicate his needs.

What an amazing way to give back! This certainly makes me want to try this brand of coffee. For more information about Burly Man Coffee and all they stand for, visit them on Facebook or check out their website at burlymancoffee.com.
