7-Year-Old Who Was Supposed To Be in Vegetative State Entire Life Overcomes All Odds

Share

An incredible family from Anderson, Indiana, has proven that even life’s greatest challenges can be overcome with a little determination and a lot of love.

Kelly and Michael Brown are parents of two very sweet little boys, Trenton and Braxton. Like many families, the Browns have faced some tough trials.

Trenton is just 7-years-old but has already seen and conquered so much during his short time on this earth. The boy suffers from epilepsy and cerebral palsy. The boy also developed a tumor on his brain, which is regularly checked for signs of cancer.

To top it all off, Trenton was diagnosed with a rare brain disorder when he was only 6 months old. Schizencephaly meant Trenton “was supposed to be in a vegetative state his entire life,” Kelly Brown told The Herald Bulletin.

But the young boy is thriving. Not only is he not in a vegetative state, but Trenton loves to play with his brother and even rides his bike like a champ.

The special Rifton tricycle makes it possible for Trenton to ride with ease, despite the fact that he’s partially paralyzed on his right side.

“As his mom, I’m so amazed at what he’s accomplished,” Kelly said. “He’s been through hell and back.”

Aside from bike riding, Trenton also loves video games and has even played t-ball. “I volunteered to coach so he could play, too,” Kelly Brown shared with the Herald Bulletin.

“We try to keep things as normal as possible,” she explained. “We don’t want his life to be hampered in any way.”

Sadly, the Brown family with their bright young boys and positive outlook on life has been through difficult times recently.

In 2016, they lived through a house fire. Now, in 2019, they are struggling to get Trenton to his appointments due to a car wreck they experienced after hitting some black ice.

A GoFundMe campaign has been set up by Kelly’s cousin in an effort to aid this family in getting them the vehicle they desperately need.

“This family NEEDS a vehicle to drive Trenton back and [forth] to his much needed appointments and I think as a city/community we can come together and help them out!!!” the GoFundMe page reads.

The Browns have already faced more hardship than some of us see in a lifetime. If you would like to help meet their need, please visit their GoFundMe page to make a donation. You can also visit Team Trenton on Facebook to follow and support this young man on his journey.

Trenton is certainly an overcomer, but overcoming rarely happens unless others come alongside you and walk through trials with you. We’re saying a prayer for this family and hoping they will get the vehicle they need soon.
