Carrie Underwood Pregnant with Rainbow Baby, Confesses 3 Miscarriages She Kept Secret

Share

Carrie Underwood is country music’s sweetheart. Her fans adore her and she brings an authenticity to her songs that most people can relate to.

While it may seem as if her light in the spotlight’s been perfect, with awards behind her and so much more ahead, not everything in Underwood’s life has been as grand as the Grand Ole Opry where she performed in August.

It was about that time the singer and songwriter announced her happy news on Instagram — she shared her pregnancy with the world.

Right before that big announcement, Underwood received quite a bit of flack from haters due to a comment she made in an interview with Redbook.

“I’m 35, so we may have missed our chance to have a big family,” she told Redbook. It was that single comment that some deemed offensive.

But what the haters and trolls didn’t know is that there may be a deeper reason behind Underwood saying she may have missed her chance.

In a recent interview with CBS Sunday Morning, the star opened up about just how many struggles she’s faced over the past two years.

“2017 just wasn’t how I imagined it,” Underwood told CBS News’ Tracy Smith. “I’d kind of planned that 2017 was, you know, going to be the year that I work on new music, and I’d have a baby.”

As she shared about her multiple heartbreaking miscarriages that came over the course of 2017 and 2018, Underwood broke down.

But the singer we all know and love stayed strong in her faith, sharing with Smith about how she continued to trust God’s timing.

She continued to write and pour her heart into her music and lyrics. In the midst of it all, she suffered a terrible fall outside her home in Nashville that landed her in the hospital.

When all seemed lost, Underwood decided to get on her knees. She prayed, thinking she was going to suffer another miscarriage.

“For the first time I feel like I actually told God how I felt,” she said. “And I feel like we’re supposed to do that.”

Just two days later her doctor told her all was well — and that Underwood and her husband Mike Fisher were expecting a baby.

Underwood’s story brings a whole new depth to her new album “Cry Pretty.” Tour dates are set for 2019.

Our prayers are with Underwood and her husband Mike Fisher as they enter this new chapter — we can’t wait to meet Isaiah’s little brother or sister!
