Carrie Underwood's Husband Spoofs 'Before He Cheats' Music Video To Promote New Hunting Line

Share

Who doesn’t love a good parody? Social media has served us well in that regard — there are plenty of song spoofs to go around.

Now our favorite country darling, Carrie Underwood, has had one of her hit songs turned on its head with the new rendition entitled “Before She Bleats.”

The spoof is a take on the original “Before He Cheats” written by Josh Kear and Chris Tompkins. The single was a no. 1 smash hit in 2006, according to The Boot.

Underwood’s former NHL star of a husband, Mike Fisher, has followed in his wife’s footsteps by performing in what may be his very own one-hit wonder.

“I’d like to thank all the people that helped make this dream come true,” Fisher wrote on Instagram. “It’s been a long time coming but excited to share my heart and soul through this song.”

While “Before She Bleats” was created as an advertisement for Fisher’s clothing brand, Catchin’ Deers, there’s no denying Fisher truly gave his all when performing this song.

“We just wanted to have fun with it (and) obviously showcase my vocal talent,” Fisher told Entertainment Tonight.

He and his buddy, Austin Casselman, founded the hunting-themed clothing line together. The brand is targeted at “folks that take their hunting seriously, and themselves lightly” according to its Facebook page.

Well, Fisher clearly takes himself lightly when it comes to recreating his wife’s songs. When you watch this music video, you’ll see how true this is.

While Underwood’s hit speaks of revenge on a cheating partner, Fisher’s version relates more to those who know exactly how it feels to find the perfect hunting spot.

The video has received 915,000 views on Facebook as of Thursday morning. Thousands of commenters have offered their humorous thoughts.

“Only hunters can appreciate this video,” one person wrote. “The most iconic country song of all time,” another said.

Underwood hasn’t yet breathed a word on social media regarding her husband’s venture into her profession. But Fisher revealed his wife’s sentiments in his interview with ET.

“Carrie didn’t write the song,” he shared. “We didn’t have to go through her, thank goodness. She might not have approved it.”

There you have it, straight from the husband’s mouth. While Underwood fans can rest knowing she’s taken no part in the parody, Fisher’s followers are saying his wife may have some new competition.

We think we’ll stick with the original version when it comes to jammin’ in the car. But when we want a good laugh from our friends? Mike Fisher’s music video has it in the bag.
