Cowboy Causes Commotion at Store When He Parades Through Aisles with His Horse

Share

There are just some things you have to see to believe. Every state has its charms. The South is known for its hospitality, while some northerners are known for their coffee-ordering know-how.

Then there’s the Midwest and the Southwest. There are just some things that only happen in places like Texas, New Mexico, or Oklahoma.

Remember the old “Oklahoma!” musical? “Oklahoma, where the wind comes sweepin’ down the plain.” Ah, yes, good ol’ Oklahoma.

Where the cowboys take their noble steeds everywhere they roam. But this is the 21st Century, and those wide open spaces aren’t so open anymore.

But, apparently, that doesn’t stop some people from “horsing” around as was made clear when one man walked into a tractor supply store in Elk City.

According to a Facebook post by Robin Morris, an elderly cowboy, complete with a hat and chaps, walked into the store and asked permission for his pet to come inside with him.

But this was no ordinary-sized, house-trained furball. This was a fully grown horse the cowboy wanted to bring into the store.

If I had been present, I might have expected the store’s management to laugh and say sorry, but no. Instead, they responded in a way I never expected.

“Only in Oklahoma!” Robin’s post reads. “Gentlemen walks into tractor supply and says I’m a senior here to buy senior horse feed for my senior horse. Can he come in?”

The worker asked the boss. What he came back with will make you laugh. According to Robin, the manager said, “Well technically our sign on the front door does say all pets welcome must be on a leash! And a bridle is a leash for a horse!”

You can’t argue with that logic. Robin caught some footage and photos of the entire thing. As I said, some things you have to see to believe.

The smile on the man’s face is worth 1,000 words. Good for that supply store, treating all customers as equals. I’ll bet that’s one happy horse.

As for the other customers, the photos make it appear this didn’t bother them one bit. I guess what Robin said is true: “Only in Oklahoma!”
