Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson Leaves Teen Speechless When She Hears Voice on Intercom

Share

I always wonder how celebrities behave in real life. While some seem genuine on the big screen or in interviews, I have to question whether that’s the person they really are.

What would happen if they were put on the spot by a fan, for instance? With the smart phone cameras rolling, would these Hollywood big shots treat us “normals” as equals?

We’ve seen a few celebrities step up to the task in recent years, often interacting with their fans or responding to tweets. Big names like Mark Hamill and Taylor Swift, for example, have been known to reach out to fans on more than one occasion.

Tux and taffeta season is upon us, and we’ve witnessed a few creative “prom-posals” posted on social media. One teen from Stillwater Area High School in Minnesota went all-out when it came to asking her dream date to the prom this year.

Katie Kelzenberg, known as “katie k” on Twitter, posted a video directed at none other than Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson. The “Jumanji” star has over twelve million Twitter followers to his name, and probably receives more than one request like Katie’s per day.

But that didn’t stop this teen from asking The Rock to “rock” the prom with her. Take a look at her fantastic video, which has already been retweeted over 200 times, and has received close to 3,000 likes.

Don’t you love her sense of humor? I burst into out-loud laughter when she showed the camera her Dwayne Johnson Halloween costume and revealed her extensive “merch collection.”

But I’m betting Katie didn’t expect her celeb crush to respond via Tweet, let alone make a cameo voice appearance over her high school’s intercom system.

Watch her face as she realizes who’s making the morning announcement in this video.

“Thank you for being awesome,” he says. The room erupted in cheers and laughter, obviously in shock that such a cool thing happened in their hometown.

Katie’s reaction is priceless. I can only imagine how she would react if she ever got to meet The Rock in real life.

Though the star couldn’t make it to prom due to his filming schedule, he delivered an alternative for Katie and all her friends.

I hope they have a blast at the private screening of “Rampage,” complete with all-they-can-eat popcorn and goodies, including a front row view of Dwayne on the big screen.
