Fast Food Workers Go Above and Beyond When Elderly Disabled Man Runs Out of Gas in Drive-Thru

In any place of business, the customer should always come first. For three employees at a Taco Bell in Sugar Creek, Missouri, putting a customer first meant more to them than serving up a single meal.

Tosha Lindquist belongs to the Independence Missouri Community Awareness group on Facebook.

The mom of three just so happened to be enjoying lunch at this particular Taco Bell when she witnessed something that truly warmed her heart.

“A car in the drive thru had run out of gas, and the driver was an elderly, disabled man,” Lindquist wrote in her group post. “These 3 Taco Bell employees immediately went out & pushed his SUV into a parking spot.”

Lindquist went on to share details about what she witnessed. She talked about one employee, Jessica, who is currently six months pregnant, and how she went out of her way in her own car to fill up a can of gas for the man.

“Jessica, Caleb, & Issac… they are fantastic examples of upstanding citizens,” Lindquist wrote. “They are a reminder that there is hope & people with good intentions. Thank you!”

Later on, Lindquist edited her post to add that one of the other employees, Caleb, had informed her the elderly man “had just gotten out of the hospital & still had his bracelets on… including the yellow FALL RISK bracelet.”

“The employees shared countless other stories of people who had collapsed, and horrible car accidents that they would find themselves witnessing and helping. I’m so excited that they are receiving recognition for one of the many good deeds they perform on a daily basis,” Lindquist told Yahoo! Lifestyle.

Have you experienced customer service like this before?

According to Kelly Ledford Hart, who manages the Sugar Creek branch, this sort of behavior isn’t out of the blue for her employees.

“This behavior is very typical for my team,” Hart told Liftable, a section of The Western Journal. “I am blessed with a fantastic group of young folks. I have the pleasure of working with so many wonderful young individuals.”

Multiple people have come forward and shared their own experiences with the Sugar Creek Taco Bell as well.

“I know exactly the Taco Bell you’re talkin about have visited many of times and I had a awesome service every time,” community member Aaron Fletcher wrote in a comment.

Taco Bell public relations representatives told Yahoo! Lifestyle that they are “proud of Jessica, Caleb and Isaac at this franchise location for going above and beyond to take care of a customer in need.”

What a fine example these three have set for their fellow employees and others in their community. They deserve every bit of praise and recognition they get!
