Funny Dad Photoshops Pictures of Preemie Baby To Make Him Look All Grown Up

Share

All parents hold high hopes and dreams for their little ones. We imagine what and who they will become, wishing the best for them and all they can be.

One dad whose son was born premature decided he wasn’t going to let an early delivery date act as a bump in the road.

In fact, Matt Mac saw his son Ryan’s early birth as an opportunity to dream even bigger for the little guy. According to World Health Organization, as of 2018 more than 15 million preterm babies are born each year.

Ryan was one of those 15 million. Brought into this world 9 weeks sooner than planned, he didn’t even weigh 3 pounds.

“He spent 6 weeks in the NICU and it seemed to last forever,” Mac writes for Bored Panda. “Although things didn’t go according to plan we didn’t let it slow us down.”

Mac shares about how he photoshopped photos of his daughter playing sports when she was born, and he had always hoped to do something similar for his son.

Rather than look at the downsides of all the complications preemie life can bring, this creative dad chose to look at the bright side.

“We joked that he wasn’t premature just ‘advanced,'” Mac says. “So I came up with the idea that we should do a photoshoot of him doing manly adult things.”

The result is hilarious. Little Ryan can be seen in all sorts of “manly” situations. From working out to working on the car, this little guy is way ahead of the game.

“Some of the setups were elaborate…” Mac explains. “…there were always a few people that feared for Ryan’s safety.”

The fun-loving but safety-conscious dad says he always made sure his son was safe. “The ‘danger’ all came from photoshop,” he assures. “And he was always being held and was never in any harm.”

While Mac clearly enjoys entertaining and daydreaming, he has a more important message for parents with premature babies.

“…be patient, be positive, and seek support,” Mac encourages. Baby Ryan may have been under 3 pounds at birth, but a photo at 6 months of age shows a happy, healthy, growing baby boy!

What do you think of this dad’s adventurous photo shoot?
