Hero Cop Breaks Window of SUV After Finding Toddler Alone & Locked Inside
Summer is fast approaching. While there is so much to look forward to during the sunny vacation months, there is also much to dread.
It seems every year we hear the same stories. Someone leaves a young child or even an infant locked in a hot car.
I’m not talking about a quick run into the gas station for two minutes or, “Oops, I forgot something in the house, I’ll be right back.”
I’m referring to those who go into a store or other place of business for minutes that lead to hours on end.
Let the baffled expressions commence. Because, really? I mean, really?
How many times must we hear of another child dying after basically being cooked in an overheated car before people stop doing this? It hurts my heart, but thankfully there are those watching out for situations just like these.
One officer from Mt. Juliet, Tennessee, has been dubbed a hero after rescuing a sweating 2-year-old from an unattended SUV.
Someone saw the child and called for help, and that’s when the hero cop stepped in and took action.
It was a typical afternoon at a local Walgreens. But a normal day quickly escalated when the policeman was forced to break a window in order to save a frantic toddler.
According to reports, the child’s mother, Mariam Banoub, had been inside the Walgreens with her 4-year-old. Meanwhile, her crying 2-year-old son was in her SUV outside.
30-year-old Banoub has since been arrested. She has been charged on multiple counts, including child neglect.
Thank goodness for good Samaritans. This incident may have ended with the children being taken home by their father, but not everyone is so lucky.
Leaving children in a hot car is no joke. And it’s certainly not worth the risk, whether for 30 minutes or 10 — just don’t.
