Joanna Gaines Shares Clever Business Idea Daughter Ella Came Up with To Earn Money
For fans of shiplap and all things Magnolia, learning Chip and Joanna Gaines would not be returning for a sixth season of Fixer Upper was a little heartbreaking. If you’ve followed the odd (and fun-loving) couple for any length of time, no doubt you, too, were disappointed when season five concluded in the spring.
But, not to worry, the Gaines family isn’t gone for good. While we may not see them teasing each other and breaking down walls on HGTV any longer, we can still get our dose of the Waco, Texas, natives by other means.
From their widely successful book, “The Magnolia Story,” to their Magnolia Home brand, available at your local Target store, the Gaines aren’t giving up their passions any time soon.
This is a couple who simply loves their kids, and with their family growing from six to seven quite soon, they wanted more time to focus on the most important people in their lives.
“They’re so young, and we want to give them the chance to have a normal childhood. Family is the most important thing in the world,” Joanna said in an interview.
Their children may be young, but they’re already taking after their parents. The boys often tag along with Chip to construction sites, and, between her two girls, Joanna has no shortage of help at her shop or in the garden.
In fact, 11-year-old Ella is quite the young entrepreneur according to a recent post on Instagram. She may not have reached her teen years yet, but this girl knows how to package baked goods.
“Her new summer business is selling baked goods at the office when she goes to work with me,” Joanna wrote. From the photo Joanna captured, I’d say Ella is well on her way to opening her own bakery someday.
“She’s going to make a heck of a business woman,” Joanna wrote in her post. As you can see, Ella didn’t just take in a pan of Aunt Opal’s banana pudding.
No, this girl, true to her mother’s style, made that pudding look irresistible. Mason jars and wooden spoons tied up with strings? Don’t mind if I do.
And for those who are itching for more of the Gaines family? Joanna’s new book releases November 6, 2018.
“Homebody: A Guide to Creating Spaces You Never Want to Leave” will show readers how to create “a space that tells your story,” Joanna shared. The design book will also showcase the Gaines’ first renovation in the wake of Fixer Upper‘s final season.
We may not have a new season of our favorite home remodel show to look forward to this fall. But we can still watch our local bookstores for a treat that will surely fill our creative needs–I know I’ll be grabbing a copy as soon as it hits the shelves.
