Jogger Called 'Disney Princess' After Three Deer Start Running Behind Him in Hilarious Video
Everyone knows the requirements for being a Disney Princess. One, you must either be born royalty or be married to royalty (the lines are fuzzy on this one, but just go with me on this).
Two, you most likely need to sing, and three, more often than not you have some sort of animal friend by your side.
Look at Snow White, Ariel, Jasmine, Belle, Mulan, Cinderella, Rapunzel, Tiana, Moana — the list goes on and on. Each and every one of them has a Raja, a Pascal or friendly, dress-sewing mice at their service.
You don’t always have to be able to talk to animals, of course, but usually, you do even if they don’t talk back. You might say a Disney Princess is kind of like a female version of Dr. Dolittle.
And if there’s a female version of Dr. Dolittle, you’d better believe there is a male version of an animal-loving Disney Princess somewhere out there.
And he just so happens to live in Michigan. Jared Wein is a jogger who lives in Oak Park. One Sunday he was jogging through his neighborhood on his way to see his wife at work.
Normally, Wein doesn’t carry his phone with him when he goes on a run but this particular day was special — you might even call if magical.
“I almost never run with my phone,” Wein told WXYZ-TV. “Because I was meeting my wife, I happened to have it with me, but on a normal day I would never [have] been able to film that experience.”
The experience Wein is referring to is the trio of deer that joined him on his Sunday run.
“This is my parade. These are my pets. Sunday morning fun run!” the jogger said in a viral video compilation he shared on YouTube.
“Whenever I would stop they would stop too, and then when I run they were running,” he told WXYZ.
Many commenters have joined in on the fun, too.
“I’ve heard deer whisperer. I’ve heard the next Disney princess,” Wein told WXYZ.
One commenter on YouTube even called Wein a “Secret Santa [Claus].”
Those aren’t exactly reindeer, but you never know what kinds of woodland creatures will start following this man next.
While the video is worth a few good laughs, Holly Vaughn — a wildlife communications coordinator — told WXYZ that when it comes to wild animals people should show caution.
“Male deer especially can become aggressive toward people,” she said.
Wein assured the news outlet that the deer were never aggressive toward him. Maybe he is the next deer whispering, Disney Princess after all.
