Little Girl Donates Every Birthday Gift She Received to Toys for Tots

Share

Dec. 25 may be in Christmas past, but the season of giving is in the present, and maybe we can make it a tradition to spread love in all the days yet to come.

One little girl from Pocatello, Idaho, is certainly inspiring others to give. Kaydence Cluff just celebrated her 9th birthday.

What she asked for is astounding. Most kids look forward to the one day a year they’re showered with gifts, and Kaydence does too, but for a different reason entirely.

According to the Idaho State Journal, 2018 marks the second year Kaydence decided her gifts should go to kids who might not get any.

It all started when she turned 8 years old. At such a young age you might think a child wouldn’t think too much about what other children are or aren’t getting.

But Kaydence has a heart for giving, and according to her mom, this is nothing new. “She always wants to buy and do things for other people. We’re certainly proud of her,” Kasey Cluff told the Idaho State Journal.

“I felt just pure pride. It’s a proud parent moment to know that your child wants to give, not receive.”

Her mom isn’t the only one beaming with pride. Courtesy Ford & Lincoln in Pocatello had something to say about Kaydence as well.

Were you inspired to donate to a certain cause this holiday season?

The local dealership collects donations for Toys for Tots, the charity Kaydence and her mom decided her toys would go to each year.

“This little girl has a special place in our hearts!” the business wrote on Facebook. “You are a very admirable little girl and not only do you make us proud, I’m sure you make your parents proud as well!”

The birthday girl didn’t stop at birthday gift donations alone.

She also took over $100 of her own birthday money to pick out all sorts of gifts from baby dolls to scooters. Kaydence hopes to expand the giving next year to include the children’s hospital.

“I’m going to try to do it every year and give more every year,” she told Idaho State Journal. “That’s my goal.”

Her big heart is admirable, just as the dealership said, but more than that, her generosity is an inspiration to others.

We wish Kaydence another wonderful year ahead and many happy returns for her kindness. Goodness knows we could use more like her in the world.
