Prince Harry Gives Heartfelt Advice to Age 6 Boy That Lost His Mother at a Young Age
They say it’s better to have loved and lost than never to have loved at all. Which may be true, but “better” doesn’t mean the pain and grief of loss ever fully vanish.
Grief comes in waves. I lost my mom in 2012. I miss her every day. The huge weight of grief isn’t ever-present anymore but it still comes, usually when I least suspect it.
As an adult, losing a parent is hard. My mom will never get to see her grandchildren grow up. She won’t be there for some of life’s most important events.
As hard as it is, I can’t imagine what it must be like for a child who loses a parent. To be so dependent on mom or dad and then lose them? The thought breaks my heart.
Prince Harry was only 12 years old when his mother Princess Diana passed away. William was 15. Over the years, the brothers have paid tribute to their mother in different ways.

Perhaps one of the most touching moments in which Harry honored his “mum” was during his recent royal tour. A stop in Auckland, New Zealand, led the Duke of Sussex to make a new friend.
The Duke and Duchess, Meghan Markle, were out walking and greeting the people, when the royal couple met a boy who it turns out has a lot in common with Harry.
Hello! Magazine reported that 6-year-old Otia Nante was with his grandmother, 52-year-old Te Nante, when they encountered the kind prince.

According to Mirror, Prince Harry reportedly spent several minutes speaking to the lad after he learned the boy had also lost his mother.
The kind royal then offered some words that have only made us love Diana’s youngest son even more. “Life will always be alright, you know that?I’ve made it to 34-years-old and life is great,” he told Otia.
“I have a beautiful wife and a baby on the way. Your life is going to be sorted, don’t you worry about that,” Harry continued.
He even offered encouragement to the boy’s grandmother, saying, “You’re doing a great job, nan. Nans are so important in our lives.”
