Woman Who Parked Mercedes Over the Line Taught Embarrassing Lesson in Video
We’ve all been in a rush to get things done at one time or another. We cut corners, and maybe we don’t do our best due to the sheer lack of time we have in our day.
But some things come down to common courtesy and even safety. How many of us have shaken a fist at the person who cut us off on the road only to end up at the exact same red light?
It all comes down to the age old phrase “Do unto others as you would have them do unto you.” Treat every one else in the world the way you would want to be treated.
Don’t go around littering or leaving your shopping carts out or slamming the door in some dear elderly person’s face. Put your carts away and pick up your garbage.
And if a little boy or girl can hold the door open for 10 plus people to walk through — I’ve witnessed this on more than one occasion — so can a full grown man or woman.
The same goes for parking. If you live in an area where parallel parking is a common necessity, you know it’s courteous to leave room between vehicles so that you and others aren’t blocked in.
As we learned from an episode of the classic sitcom “Friends,” being blocked in a parking spot is no fun at all.
The same goes for parking lot parking. Those lines are there for a reason and more often than not, I’ve noticed parking spots are wide enough to fit even the heftiest of vehicles.
So, really, there’s no excuse when a tiny little compact car pulls into a spot over the line. One in five car accidents will happen in a parking lot, CBS News reported in 2016.
While parking over the line won’t necessarily cause a major accident, it could scratch up a car.
State Farm lists distancing yourself as one of the top ways to avoid dings and dents.
“Park away from other vehicles,” the insurance carrier notes. “This may be inconvenient, but it’s considerably more polite than parking your vehicle across several spaces to keep others from parking near you.”
Parking away from others includes making sure you are safely and carefully between the designated lines. You may not be able to control someone else, but you certainly have power over what you do.
One woman driving what Facebook personality Rick Lax calls a “fancy car” learned her lesson after she parked her Mercedes over the line in a store parking lot.
The video Lax shared has gone viral and it’s easy to see why. We may not know who the driver of the red car is, but we do know they have a great sense of humor!
And there you have it folks. Don’t let this happen to you! Be courteous and park between the lines. It only takes a few extra seconds to make sure you’re in your spot.
