The Los Angeles Police Department is investigating claims made by actor Corey Feldman that he was sexually abused as a child in the 1980s.
“It was brought to our attention. He filed a police report and we are investigating now,” a spokesman for the LAPD told Fox News on Wednesday.
Feldman drafted a series of tweets Monday, emphatically stating he had spoken with the LAPD. The actor expressed his excitement that the allegations he’s been making since the 1990s were finally being looked into.

Feldman said he was praying for his personal safety, and asked supporters to help spread the word.
The actor was three-years-old when he began his career in the film industry, according to IMDb. He’s best known for his roles in numerous blockbusters during the 1980s, including “Gremlins,” “The Goonies,” and “Stand by Me.”
Feldman has repeatedly stated he and his former co-star Corey Haim were preyed on by entertainment industry insiders when they were children.
Haim died suddenly from pneumonia in 2010, as reported by the Los Angeles Times. He was best known for his roles in “The Lost Boys,” “License to Drive,” and “Dream a Little Dream.
Feldman said on “Dr. Oz” last week that his former assistant, Jon Grissom, had molested him in the 1980s, according to the New York Daily News.
