MAGA for All: Hispanic Unemployment Rate Plummets to All-Time Low

Share

Remember the hours after Donald Trump won the election? You probably recall liberals looking sullen, acting as if the world was literally about to end. Some of them wailed in the streets — how productive! — while the media breathlessly warned Americans about the coming racist, oppressive reign of Trump.

All that weeping and gnashing of teeth seems rather hilarious today.

Contrary to the sky-is-falling predictions, the country is actually doing very well. The economy is booming, jobs are plentiful and unemployment is low.

“Well sure, things are great for you because you’re a privileged white male,” some liberal somewhere would no doubt say. “But Trump doesn’t care about minorities — and he hates Hispanics!”

That narrative, however, has just been destroyed by pesky facts. It turns out that everyone is benefiting from the Trump economy, no matter their race.

On Friday, CNS News reported that Hispanic and Latino unemployment is the lowest it’s ever been. Not in the last few years. Not in the last decade. It’s the lowest ever in American history, since the Bureau of Labor Statistics began tracking it in 1973.

“In April, the unemployment rate for Hispanics and Latinos, aged 16 and up, was 4.2%, down from 4.7% in March — breaking the record low of 4.3% set two months earlier in February,” CNS News reported.

Once again, April’s 4.2% unemployment among Hispanics and Latinos in the U.S. labor force is a record low — and that’s good news for everyone.

It’s a great time to be an American worker, and the growing economy doesn’t seem to care whether you’re white, black, Hispanic, or anything else. And to the chagrin of leftists, Trump is getting a lot of the credit for this prosperous time.

Has the media purposely downplayed the Trump economy?

“One of the biggest beneficiaries of the Trump economy has been Hispanics, whose entrepreneurial talents have been harnessed in this climate of deregulation and tax cuts,” pointed out Alfredo Ortiz from the Job Creators Network.

“While Democrats play class warfare and identity politics, President Trump’s policies are creating a booming economy that is lifting all boats,” Ortiz added.

The numbers are similarly looking good for other minority groups. Last year, we noted that black unemployment had fallen to its lowest level ever — 6.8 percent — a fact so amazing that even the establishment media had to acknowledge it.

“In the 45 years the data has been tracked, the unemployment rate for black or African-American workers aged 16 years and older has never fallen below 7 percent,” CNBC reported last January.

The number today? Astonishingly, even lower: Black Americans saw an unemployment rate of only 6.7 in April 2019, according to the latest government BLS data.

Here’s an important question: At what point will the naysayers and critics of the president admit that they might have been wrong?

“We’re going to win so much, you’re going to be so sick and tired of winning,” Trump boldly promised during the campaign, all while pundits mocked him.

So-called “experts,” particularly among the left, were wrong about Trump’s chances of securing the GOP nomination.

They were wrong about his ability to win the White House, wrong again about Russian collusion, and now are being forced to eat crow about prosperity during his presidency.
