Nancy Pelosi Botches Student's Black Lives Matter Question, Stumbling Answer Angers Leftists

Share

There’s virtually nothing good to come out of far leftism.

The destructive identity politics and closed-mindedness of the far left is as reprehensible a mode of behavior as it is responsible for so many of the problems in America today.

But, and bear with me here, there may be one sliver of good to come out of the far left and the Democrats’ increasing reliance on the progressive power base.

In short, the far left has opened up the very real potential of the self-destruction of the Democratic Party. The left is beginning to devour the left.

Case in point: After an MSNBC town hall-style interview Friday of House Speaker Nancy Pelosi at Pelosi’s alma mater of Trinity University in Washington, Pelosi is getting excoriated by those who feel she is just not far left enough.

Basically, Pelosi was at a liberal forum, and get tossed a liberal question, and she botched it.

To be completely fair, as despicable and vile as Pelosi can be, her late 1980s Silicon Valley leftism is downright tame compared to the far leftism pervading 2019.

In this insistence, Pelosi made the grave mistake of not embracing “Black Lives Matter” with every fiber of her being.

Are the Democrats going to get more divided in 2019?

“I support the recognition that black lives matter, for sure, and I have incorporated that in many of my statements,” Pelosi said.

That’s when Pelosi made her fatal error.

“All lives matter,” she said. “We really have to redress past grievances in terms of how we addressed the African-American community.”

Uh-oh. Uttering “all lives matter” is a surefire way to infuriate the far left. As far as modern liberals are concerned, the only way to determine the worth of a life is by the color of one’s skin.

That is the smallest of samplings of the overall vitriol and hate spewed towards Pelosi because of her answer.

Pelosi dared to suggest all lives matter and also made the mistake of saying that African-American grievances were in the past. That’s never going to sit well with the far left, considering all matters of identity politics are problems of the present.

Democrats snickered at the splintering in the GOP between the pro-Trump Republicans and the #NeverTrumpers. If that’s the proper response to such a divide, the issues between the leftists and far leftists in the Democratic party should trigger some solild conservative belly laughs.

Honestly, it couldn’t have happened to a nicer group of people.
