NBA Star Quickly Apologizes After Calling Cleveland A 'S---Hole'
Isaiah Thomas didn’t enjoy his six months in Cleveland and he let the world know about it in a spontaneous social media video on Saturday.
Thomas, who played 15 games with the Cavs last season, called the city “a s—hole” when he was recounting all of the cities he’s played in.
“Sac (Sacramento), LA and Boston was all love. Phoenix was cool…Cleveland was a s—hole.
“I see why LeBron left. Again.”
The video contains explicit language but can be viewed here.
After receiving backlash, Thomas then issued an apology video on Instagram in which he said “Cleveland wasn’t that bad.” He also posted a message on Twitter apologizing for his choice of words.
I apologize for my choice of words about Cleveland. I was on my live playing around. They don’t show you everything for a reason smh. Right after that I clarified what I said…. All love to everybody who had love for me in Cleveland.

Thomas was acquired by the Cavs in the trade that sent Kyrie Irving to Boston. After sitting out nearly three months with a hip injury, Thomas didn’t look like his normal self in the games in which he played for the Cavs.
After averaging 28.9 points per game on 46 percent shooting the previous season with Boston, Thomas posted just 14.7 PPG on 36 percent shooting in Cleveland.
He was then shipped to the Lakers at the trade deadline where he played in just 17 games. He missed the last month of the season after finally undergoing hip surgery, which he regrets not having at the end of his Boston stint.
A free agent this summer, Thomas received a cold market due to his age (29), injury history and desire to be a starter. He has to settle for a one-year, minimum salary contract with the Denver Nuggets.
Thomas won’t be a starter as he’ll back up third-year player Jamal Murray. But Thomas is reunited with Mike Malone who coached him for one season in Sacramento.
Cleveland fans likely don’t want to hear it, but Thomas isn’t the first NBA player to disparage the city. Joakim Noah isn’t a fan of “The Land” and didn’t hold back in his thoughts on the city.

“You like it? You think Cleveland’s cool? I mean I’ve never heard anybody say ‘I’m going to Cleveland on vacation.’
“What’s so good about Cleveland?”
Not much if you ask Isaiah Thomas. But his comments have made the Nuggets only visit to Cleveland on November 1 all the more interesting.
