A new NBC election forecast isn’t looking so good for Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump.
The analysis postulated that if the election were held today, Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton would secure a win and have plenty of wiggle room left.
The network’s battleground map had Clinton earning 288 electoral college votes, with Trump winning only 174. Seventy-six electoral votes were said to be a “tossup.”

Colorado, New Hampshire, North Carolina, Virginia, Pennsylvania and Nebraska were all changed from tossups to “leans Democratic.”
Trump, however, has made gains in Florida, where Clinton has been dropping in the polls. The Sunshine State is now considered a tossup.
If the election were held today, Clinton has a 86.4 percent chance of winning, according to FiveThirtyEight. The research site has Clinton at 360 electoral votes to Trump’s 177.

The Republican presidential candidate has been having a hard time of late, even from members of his own party.
A draft letter addressed to Republican National Committee Chairman Reince Priebus — one that was reported on last week — now has more than 120 signatures in its final form, according to CBS News.
The Republicans reportedly are urging Priebus to stop funding Trump’s bid and instead allocate party money toward House and Senate races.
“Given the catastrophic impact that Donald Trump’s losing presidential campaign will have on down-ballot Senate and House races, we urge you to immediately suspend all discretionary RNC support for Trump and focus the entirety of the RNC’s available resources on preserving the GOP’s congressional majorities,” the letter reportedly says.
It also points to Trump’s slumping poll numbers.

“We believe that Donald Trump’s divisiveness, recklessness, incompetence, and record-breaking unpopularity risk turning this election into a Democratic landslide, and only the immediate shift of all available RNC resources to vulnerable Senate and House races will prevent the GOP from drowning with a Trump-emblazoned anchor around its neck,” the letter says.
Priebus called for party unity in an appearance with Trump on Friday.
“Don’t believe the garbage you read,” he said. “Let me tell you something: Donald Trump, the Republican Party, all of you, we’re going to put him in the White House and save this country together.”
