New Report Proves Big Tech Employees Have Exactly Who They Want in the White House

Employees of Microsoft, Amazon, Apple, Facebook and Alphabet, Google’s parent company, donated at least $15.1 million to President Joe Biden’s campaign, according to OpenSecrets.

The donations eclipsed the amount given by employees in the banking and legal sectors, The Wall Street Journal reported.

The five tech companies were the largest fundraising sources for Biden’s campaign.

While tech employees have long supported Democratic candidates, previous presidential campaigns, including those of Hillary Clinton and former President Barack Obama, relied more on donors and corporations outside of the technology realm.

Wall Street employees at Goldman Sachs, Citigroup, Bank of America, Wells Fargo and JP Morgan gave a collective $3.7 million to Biden’s campaign.

But Alphabet employees alone donated over $5.2 million, and Microsoft, Amazon and Facebook employees gave $3.2 million, $2.8 million and $1.9 million, respectively.

While campaign finance law prohibits corporations from donating directly to political campaigns, their employees can of course donate to campaigns as they choose.

During former President Donald Trump’s re-election bid, employees at American Airlines, Boeing, Lockheed Martin, Wells Fargo and several government agencies donated the most to his campaign, according to OpenSecrets.

Do you think Big Tech companies have an anti-conservative bias?

The findings come amid growing criticism of Big Tech over its suppression of conservative and anti-establishment views.

Lawmakers from both parties have argued that the tech giants are too powerful, with many calling for additional government oversight and others calling for them to be broken up.
