In what police are investigating as an attempted murder suicide, a case in Sand Lake Michigan is making headlines for the strange and unusual witness, an African Gray Parrot. In May 2015, Martin and Glenna Duram were found shot on the floor of their home, after police were called to the scene. Marin died from his gunshot wounds, but Glenna survived, but maintains she is not her husband’s killer.

Martin’s parents, Charles and Lillian Duram, inherited the parrot who they say mimic’s their son’s final words, “Don’t f***ing shoot!”

“I personally think he was there and he remembers it, and he was saying it,” Charles said.
The parrot, Bud, repeats the phrase which can be heard clearly by slowing down his speech. Duram’s parents says it gives them chills to hear Bud mimic what they believe are their son’s last words and to think the bird may have actually witnessed their son’s murder.

Police say Glenna wrote three separate suicide notes but maintains her innocence. The investigation is still ongoing, yet the prosecutor is expected to determine later this month whether or not charges will be filed against Glenna in her husband’s death.
Christina Keller, Martin’s ex-wife, upon hearing Bud repeat the phrases at her home said, “I’m hearing two people in an intense argument. Two people that I know, voices that I recognize,” adding, “It’s intense. When it happens, my house turns cold.”
