Police Reveal Suspect in Officer Killing Is an Illegal Immigrant As Manhunt Continues

Share

Conservatives including President Donald Trump have been repeatedly criticized for suggesting that rampant illegal immigration allows violent criminals to enter our country, but reality keeps showing that this is sadly the case.

The latest incident of an illegal border crosser entering the United States and then harming Americans just took place this week in California — and now shocking details are emerging.

During the late night hours of Christmas, or technically 1 AM on the 26th, a police officer named Cpl. Ronil Singh conducted a traffic stop in Newman, California. What happened next shattered his and his family’s lives.

“The suspect was stopped by Singh for a DUI investigation before engaging in a gunfight with the officer, during which Singh tried to defend himself,” Fox News reported.

Many traffic stops are routine. This one wasn’t.

“Singh had called in the traffic stop and reported ‘shots fired’ over his radio a few minutes later,” Fox continued. “The suspect fled when backup officers arrived to assist Singh, who was then rushed to a hospital. He later died from his gunshot wounds.”

As of Thursday evening, the suspect is still on the run, and officials have released some sobering information about the shooter.

The alleged cop killer is an illegal immigrant who was not authorized to enter the U.S. and certainly not permitted to possess a firearm.

Do you hope this suspect is apprehended soon?

“This suspect … is in our country illegally. He doesn’t belong here. He is a criminal. We will find him, we will arrest him, we will bring him to justice,” declared Stanislaus County Sheriff Adam Christianson.

The sheriff added that the suspect, whose name has not been released until investigators confirm it, “is considered armed and dangerous” as the manhunt continues.

Interestingly, the slain officer was himself an immigrant to the U.S., with two major differences: He came legally and dedicated his life to helping his adopted nation.

“Singh was a native of Fiji and left behind a wife and 5-month-old son,” Fox reported. “The officer, who joined the force in the summer of 2011, was remembered fondly by the Newman police chief, who said Singh ‘truly loved what he did.'”

President Trump used Twitter to bring the manhunt national attention and connect it to much-needed border security.

“There is right now a full scale manhunt going on in California for an illegal immigrant accused of shooting and killing a police officer during a traffic stop,” the president posted.

“Time to get tough on Border Security. Build the Wall!” he continued.

There is a vast difference between lawful immigrants like Singh, who should be remembered as a hero, and the law-breaking dirtbag who took his life.

If there was any doubt that reality doesn’t match the liberal narrative about all illegal aliens being good, harmless dreamers, this disturbing incident should clear it up. As the president once said, “Americans are dreamers too.”
