Prince William Takes Time on Israel Trip To Recreate Kate Middleton's Childhood Photo
Prince William left his wife and children at home for a solo visit to the Middle East.
The trip is history-making, as the Duke of Cambridge is the first senior-level British royal to ever officially visit Israel and the Palestinian territories.
Kate Middleton was unable to accompany her husband because she is on maternity leave. The couple’s third child, Prince Louis was born on April 23.
The Middle East holds a special place in Kate Middleton’s heart. She lived in Jordan for three years as a child.

One of Middleton’s favorite attractions was the Jerash archaeological site, which she visited at age 4. Prince William stopped at the same site, snapping a photo in the same place his wife stood years ago, alongside her sister and father.
“[Kate] loved it here, she really did,” Prince William said, as reported by the Daily Mail. “She is very upset that I am coming here without her.”
Hopefully, the cute photo will tide the Duchess over until she can make the trip herself. “We’ll have to bring the kids next time,” Prince William said as he posed for his solo photo.
Prince William spent the first portion of his trip with Jordan’s Crown Prince Hussein (the son of King Abdullah II). After a day of attending meetings and events together, the pair settled down for an evening of soccer.
Prince William couldn’t watch the @England match live and avoided finding out the score all afternoon. He sat down with the Crown Prince of Jordan to watch a rerun after dinner at the Beit Al Urdun Palace.

The Crown Prince and Prince William watched the tape-delayed World Cup England-Panama match together. Prince William had gone to great lengths to make sure nobody spoiled the outcome of the match.
Prince William reportedly asked news reporters and staff traveling alongside him not to say anything about the match.
He jokingly made his World Cup decree “on pain of death,” for anyone who dared to spoil the ending.
It wasn’t all World Cup and tourist attractions for the Duke of Cambridge. He met with orphaned women in Jordan, hearing their stories of resilience and learning about the various ways they have entered the workforce.
The Duke of Cambridge departed Jordan with a heartfelt thank you to everyone who hosted him. His next stop will be in Israel.
