Progressive Feminist Suspended, Attacked by Own Party for Brutal Reality Check on Transgenderism

At this point, it’s become abundantly clear that the only real difference between liberalism and cannibalism is that one involves ideologies and the other involves flesh.

How else can you explain a radical feminist being attacked for daring to challenge a different tenet of liberalism?

To be frank, far left liberalism was always headed in this direction. When you’re constantly playing the victim and using identity politics, it’s only a matter of time before that nonsense begins to overlap.

Oh, you’re a liberal but you’re straight? Why are you oppressing gay people?

Oh, you’re a white socialist? Why do you ignore black people?

Oh, it’s “The Vagina Monologues“? Where’s the transgender representation?

And so on, and so forth.

The latest example of the left eating the left comes from radical Canadian feminist Meghan Murphy. To be clear, Murphy is no saint. Toxic feminism represents some of the very worst of the far left.

But to give credit where it’s due, Murphy seems keenly aware of the dangers transgenderism represent to many women.

Should Twitter have suspended Murphy's account over her comments?

Whether it’s the blurring of lines between genders, all but making gender distinctions meaningless, or how transgenderism grants patently unfair advantages in sports, anyone with a functioning brain can see some of these pitfalls.

Murphy clearly sees those pitfalls, and for daring to call them out she has been slammed for her viewpoints.

Frequently referred to as a TERF (trans-exclusionary radical feminist) on Twitter, liberals have raked Murphy over the coals for her beliefs.

What sparked this entire ordeal was when Murphy, through her currently suspended Twitter account, claimed in October that “Men are not women.” She also wanted to know how “What is the difference between men and transwomen?”

According to The Daily Wire, Twitter alleges that Murphy broke its “hateful conduct” rules with her tweets. Apparently, to the leftist behemoth Twitter, claiming that men and women are different is hate speech.

As The Daily Wire transcribes, Murphy took to Twitter again after deleting the offending tweets, this time taking Twitter itself to task.

“That a multi billion dollar company is censoring BASIC FACTS and silencing people who ask questions about this dogma is INSANE,” she wrote as part of a longer screed against Twitter.

In another Twitter rant, Murphy slammed liberals for denouncing the very same “free speech” they claim to hold so dear.

“I am not abandoning my principles, but what I will grant ‘the right’ (or ‘free speechers,’ or whatever you want to call them) is that at least they are interested in engaging with those they may disagree with on various issues. The left, on the other hand, wants an echo chamber. It’s not only boring, but it’s unproductive,” she said.

Murphy’s account was subsequently suspended again.

While I still vehemently disagree with quite a bit of Murphy’s rhetoric, she is 100-percent correct about that liberal echo chamber. If anything, she didn’t go far enough. Echo chambers are beyond unproductive — they’re damaging.

Productive discourse and constructive debates die when people censor viewpoints they disagree with.

Murphy is aware of that fact. Too bad the far left will likely never come to that realization.
