Proud Boys Founder Speaks Out After Reports FBI Classified Group as Extremists - 'Fake Story'

Share

A leaked internal report from the Clark County Sheriff’s Office in Washington is making headlines after claiming the Federal Bureau of Investigation considers the Proud Boys an “extremist group.”

Gavin McInnes, founder of the group, says this is an outright lie.

“This is a fake story. This is not news,” McInnes said in an interview with Newsmax TV. “This is how lazy journalists are. No one who’s talking about this has spoken to the FBI at all.”

McInnes explains that the media is making the memo look like a “leaked dossier” instead of what he asserts it is — bureaucratic cops avoiding a wrongful firing lawsuit with information supposedly from the FBI.

The memo itself is a document outlining the investigation into Clark County deputy sheriff Erin Willey, who is accused of having “knowingly and willingly affiliated herself with a fraternal organization known as the Proud Boys,” as well as the heinous crime of participating in “manufacturing and selling of Proud Boy Girls apparel.”

The investigation was sparked after two photographs of Willey were submitted.

In the first picture, she’s in a patrol uniform. In the next, Proud Boy Girls apparel. The department later determined the pictures were submitted by an angry ex-boyfriend.

Although the memo states its intended purpose isn’t to detail the Proud Boys, it mentions several times the group has been labeled extremist by the FBI.

Do you think the Proud Boys are an extremist group?

McInnes disputed that, arguing that this claim has not yet been substantiated.

“I’ve seen zero evidence that the FBI said this,” McInnes noted. “This is just a guy covering his a–!”

Asked to address his group’s brawls with Antifa, the Proud Boys founder didn’t back down.

“Antifa, the DNC, the media– they’re all the same thing,” McInnes said. “Antifa does the dirty work, the politicians blow it up, and the media puts it on paper.”

“We’re living in an America where if you resist terrorism from the alt-left, you’re a Nazi,” McInnes eventually concluded. “Even if you’re black.”

Videos of the Proud Boy’s engagements with Antifa posted online seem to only muddy the waters, showing all-out brawls between the two groups, often with no clear victim or aggressor. Mobs are often as chaotic as they are violent.

Assertions that the Proud Boys are an extremist group have yet to be addressed by the FBI.
