Sarah Huckabee Sanders Notices Accidental Praise of Trump in WaPo Article

Share

White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders has to be pretty selective when it comes to passing along pieces from the mainstream media, but she apparently had no problem at all re-tweeting a recent article that admitted to President Donald Trump’s booming economy.

It must have been too good to resist.

The Washington Post piece, titled “Companies struggle to find, retain workers in a hot economy,” stated that for the first time since the Great Depression, everyone who wants a job can find one.

On Jan. 13, Sanders quoted the article on her Twitter account.

Of course, Sanders deals with the liberal media every day and knows how skeptical they have been of President Trump’s decisions, especially his push to reform America’s tax plan.

This is what she said:

For the first time in a long time, liberal media outlet was forced itself to admit that President Trump is winning in the White House.

Do you think the liberal media is coming around?

This is what the article had to say about the president’s tax bill, which was highly criticized by Democrats and the media for months:

“Since President Trump signed a $1.5 trillion tax cut in December, several major employers have announced pay increases or one-time bonuses.

“The latest came Thursday when Walmart announced plans to raise its starting hourly wage to $11 from $9, and distribute bonuses of up to $1,000,” the article continued.

“Other companies, such as American Airlines, AT&T, Comcast and Bank of America, have cited the tax legislation as the trigger for similar moves, drawing cheers from Republicans.”

This is an incredible admission by a liberal news media.

This is the paragraph Sanders is quoting in full:

“This is what full employment looks like. A decade after the worst economic downturn since the Great Depression, the United States suddenly finds itself at a place where almost everyone who wants a job can find one. The unemployment rate in December was 4.1 percent, leaving employers struggling to attract and retain good workers and raising the prospect of higher wages as the United States approaches congressional elections in November.”

Note, as Sanders must have, the word “suddenly.” That would be about one full year into the Trump presidency. In other words, it’s not something the Obama White House can claim credit for.

This is what Trump, Sanders and Trump’s supporters around the country have been saying all along: Wait and see. President Trump will make America great again.
