Sarah Sanders Reportedly Eyeing a New Job, and Liberals Will Work Overtime To Prevent It

Like father, like daughter?

According to Politico, outgoing White House press secretary Sarah Sanders is seriously considering a run for governor of Arkansas, a position held by her father, former Gov. Mike Huckabee, for over a decade.

The report comes a day after President Donald Trump hinted at an Orlando, Florida, rally that Sanders may be running for the gubernatorial office in the future.

“I have a feeling she’s going to be running for a certain gubernatorial position,” the president said as Sanders walked on to the stage to speak to the cheering crowd.

The comment from Trump seemingly gave her the final boost she needed to begin consideration for a campaign, as she and her team have reportedly been phoning Republican operatives and big donors in Arkansas.

While they didn’t discuss a political campaign, those who talked to Sarah Sanders say this outreach is indicative of a potential run.

“She’s extremely serious,” said one of the people who has talked to her, according to Politico.

However, some of the press secretary’s closest aides say these calls don’t have anything to do with a potential campaign, claiming that she’s looking to catch up with political allies as she prepares to head back home.

Regardless, people in Arkansas are intrigued by the prospect of Sanders running, especially with Mike Huckabee’s name recognition on her side.

Should Sarah Huckabee Sanders run for Arkansas governor?

“It has been the nonstop political conversation since it hit, and will probably be so now going forward,” said Arkansas political consultant Bill Vickery. “That indicates what sort of big-time player she is in terms of the political landscape if indeed she follows through.”

“She would be formidable if she were to get into the race,” longtime Arkansas political reporter Roby Brock said. “She’s got the Huckabee political machine, the Boozman political machine and the Trump political machine.”

Doyle Webb, chairman of the Republican Party in Arkansas, decided against postulating Sarah Sanders’ political future and simply welcomed her back to the state.

“We are very pleased to have her coming back to Arkansas. Arkansans believe she has done a superb job as press secretary for the president, and I wouldn’t want to speculate about what her political future is. I’m fairly certain that [Trump’s] support and any support she’s built on her own would be a considerable [asset].”

Because of her controversial time as press secretary — in which she defended Trump, sparred with reporters and tossed out regular press briefings — she will be a prime target for the Democrat party should she decide to pursue the governorship in 2022.

Liberals simply cannot stand Sarah Sanders’ direct personality while she presides from behind the podium. Should she campaign, the left will protest her, antagonize her and donate massive amounts to her opponents — unfortunately for them, she’s quite used to shenanigans from progressives.

She has the firepower to win, but will she run?
