Australian Kate Ogg was 26 weeks into her pregnancy when she suddenly went into labor and was rushed to the hospital. Kate and her husband, David, were expecting twins, but they never expected what happened when the premature babies, a boy and a girl, were delivered.
The doctor asked the boy’s name, and Kate told him “Jamie.” That’s when the doctor told the anxious mother that her son didn’t make it.
Kate and David were devastated. They immediately took the lifeless preemie and placed his tiny body close between them on the hospital bed.

“I wanted as much body heat around this baby as possible,” explained Kate. “I moved his ear to my heart…and cried and cried.”
