Florida State starting quarterback Deondre Francois is under investigation over an alleged domestic violence incident involving a pregnant woman, per the Tallahassee Democrat.

Tallahassee police responded to a call Tuesday evening at Francois’ home.

The incident involved an unidentified woman who says she is pregnant with Francois’ child, according to the police report via the Democrat.

Francois was the one to call the police after an argument between the two got physical, the report said.

According to Francois, the woman began breaking his things and tried to rip a television set off the wall.

According to the woman, Francois got upset because one of his friends tried talking to her.

The woman told police Francois broke down a bedroom door, picked her up and threw her to ground, cutting her forearm.

Francois said he tried to restrain her, and in the struggle she cut her arm on a broken vase.

The quarterback said the woman claimed she was pregnant without offering any paperwork. The woman said she had told him about the pregnancy several times before.

The woman reportedly did not wish to press charges against Francois.

“She advised me she did not want Francois to get in ‘trouble trouble’, but she did want me to speak with him and scare him a little,'” an officer wrote in the report.

No arrests were made at the time because of conflicting reports and the lack of a witness. However, Jack Campbell, state attorney for Florida’s 2nd Judicial Circuit, confirmed his office was investigating an incident involving Francois.

“While it is a pending investigation it is confidential and we aren’t going to comment on it,” said Campbell, an alumnus of FSU.

Seminoles fans are certainly hoping that nothing comes of this.

The FSU football team collapsed in 2017 after Francois was lost to an injured knee in the team’s season-opening loss to the Alabama Crimson Tide.

While it’s debatable whether a truly elite team should collapse as thoroughly as Florida State did in 2017 while missing just one key player, the loss of Francois certainly didn’t help.

Francois was the 2016 ACC Rookie of the Year.

As a redshirt freshman in 2016, Francois threw for 3,350 yards and 20 touchdowns, tacking on another five touchdowns on the ground.

There were high expectations for Francois heading into 2017.

The Seminoles finished the season 7-6, with a 3-5 record in conference. They did finish the season on a four-game winning streak, however.

Coach Jimbo Fisher left to take the helm at Texas A&M, and was replaced by Oregon’s Willie Taggart.
