Strangers' Identical Dogs Run Toward Each Other, Owners Notice Pups' Matching Tattoos

Share

We often tend to discount the memories of animals. In many ways, their memories are far better than our own.

There are multiple stories of long-lost siblings finding each other through chance.

Still, if we were separated from a sibling at birth, there’s no way we’d be able to pick them out of a crowd at a supermarket years later.

One woman witnessed the power of a dog’s memory firsthand and filmed the interaction.

“I was at my booth at Pike Place Market and two couples (who didn’t know each other) were walking towards each other with identical dogs,” Pam Corwin wrote in her post.

“Suddenly, the dogs ran towards each other and went totally crazy. I went over to watch because it was so adorable.”

As the owners started talking, they realized they adopted their dogs through the same methods.

Still, it’s a long-shot for two dog siblings to meet in a chance encounter in a Seattle supermarket.

“The couples figured out that the dogs are siblings and came over on the same plane to be adopted from Russia a year ago!” Corwin wrote. “The dogs recognized each other!

“They even had identifying tattoos that confirmed it. This joyful reunion went on for over a half an hour, in fact, they were still at it when I left the market.”

Sure enough, the two pups were siblings after all.

Happenstance brought them together once again as they rolled on the floor with pure joy.

According to the post, the two couples ended up exchanging numbers.

These two dogs haven’t seen the last of each other.

It’s beautiful to see these two dogs frolicking together after being apart for so long.

The reunited siblings can now enjoy each others’ company whenever their owners set up a playdate.
