As actors, musicians and activists are all drawing battle lines over gender-neutral bathrooms, with some performers even canceling planned and ticketed events in a show of support, the common men and women who are forced to use public restrooms are left with the fallout in the culture war going on in the U.S. And some of the non-celebrity types are reportedly not at all happy about having to share their restroom with individuals who identify as their opposite sex.
According to TMZ, crew members on the set of the pro-transgender show Transparent are rumored to be very upset with the show’s decision and subsequent move to create gender-neutral facilities. But it’s also been reported they’re too afraid of being called “transphobic” to voice their displeasure.

Insiders reportedly told TMZ the male and female bathrooms are now open to all, and the executives have put up a sign to signal transgender people are allowed to enter whichever bathroom they choose. Female crew members are reportedly upset at the possibility of walking in and seeing a man using the urinal, possibly exposing himself to them.

Transparent, an original show produced by Amazon, is an Emmy-winning series based on the transgender lifestyle. While Transparent is considered to be a progressive-thinking, open-minded show, the news that some crew members may feel uncomfortable sharing restrooms with transgender people could be a big disappointment to the show’s producers. Unfortunately for those crew members, there is no legal protection for the studio workers who object to the show’s latest management decision.
TMZ stated it reached out to Amazon for comment but the company has not responded to their calls.
