Left Turns On Itself, Trevor Noah Mocks Peter Strzok After Launching GoFundMe Page

Share

The Department of Justice and FBI recently took the long-awaited step of formally firing FBI Special Agent Peter Strzok, who was revealed to have displayed an incredible amount of anti-Trump and pro-Clinton bias while leading the investigations of both Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton in 2016.

A GoFundMe account was immediately set up on Strzok’s behalf by “friends” of Strzok to raise money to cover his legal expenses and lost wages, with an initial goal of $150,000.

That goal was swiftly reached, so the goal was raised to $350,000, a sum that was also soon reached, prompting Strzok’s “friends” to raise the bar a third time, setting the goal at a sweet $500,000 — it currently sat at $431,000 raised as of this article’s writing on Friday afternoon — but that outpouring of financial support for the fired agent isn’t sitting well with some on the left.

According to The Daily Wire, the liberal-leaning Trump-hating host of Comedy Central’s “The Daily Show,” Trevor Noah, took great exception to not only the constantly shifting goal of the fundraising account but also the obviously misplaced priorities of Trump-hating leftists who are funding Strzok while other far more worthy causes go unfunded.

Noah began by noting that “stock photo” FBI agent Strzok had been fired for his overt political bias and played a series of clips of media reports discussing the rapid growth of the fundraising account on his behalf.

“Ok, first off, this is some bulls**t we need to address about GoFundMe’s in general,” stated Noah. “How do people say ‘this is the amount I need’ and then change the amount when they get it? That’s not a thing!”

Noah used as an example a man on the street asking for $50 to go see his family, then asking for $100 for the same thing once he’d reached that total, and so on, prompting Noah to exclaim, “This is a scam!”

“Because seriously, half a million dollars on a GoFundMe just for hating Donald Trump,” stated Noah. “There’s cancer patients on that site that are like, ‘hey, we hate him too, can you pay for our treatments?'”

Noah then brought on the show’s “senior political analyst” Michael Kosta for his analysis. Kosta explained that there are “big bucks in hating on Donald Trump” these days, as evidenced by the “fastest-growing sector of the economy … Trump-hating late-night talk shows,” of which he estimated there are now “17,000” such programs.

Do you agree that hating Trump has become financially lucrative for some on the left?

Kosta noted that it wasn’t just Strzok who was cashing in on the left’s hatred of Trump, but also pointed to the half million raised on behalf of fired FBI deputy director Andrew McCabe.

“I get it, people are desperate for anything that can hurt Trump, even a little bit, but that’s how scams work, by preying on the most desperate,” stated Kosta.

Kosta also pointed to “seven foot freak” James Comey — fired FBI director — and Noah mentioned how fired White House official Omarosa Manigault-Newman is “swimming in cash” for now hating Trump.

Finally Kosta recalled the “master of this game,” Green Party nominee Jill Stein, who raised more than $7.3 million for “recount” efforts after the 2016 election to “stop Trump.”

Trevor Noah made a rather valid point with regard to the shifting of goalposts on fundraisers like Strzok’s, but his even more important point is how disgusting it is that some Trump-hating liberals are showering Strzok with funds while other laudable goals for the left — like helping cancer patients, or underfunded inner-city schools, or even providing legal defense for illegal immigrants — go ignored and unfunded.

This is just the latest example of the tendency of the left to turn on and eat their own, and while it is quite hilarious for those of us on the right to witness, it ought to be concerning to those on the left who aren’t wholly consumed by their Trump Derangement Syndrome and still retain some semblance of sensibility.
