Trump Fires Back After New Congresswoman Calls Him a 'Motherf---er'

To some, she may seem more like an SJW activist than a representative of the people. Michigan’s Democratic Rep. Rashida Tlaib has been making headlines with some of the stunts she has pulled, not the least of which was to shock both sides of the aisle in Congress by using a profane attack against President Donald Trump.

The Hill reported that the remark occurred at a MoveOn rally just hours after the representative was sworn into office. With cameras all around her, she unleashed the epithet.

She said, “When your son looks at you and says, ‘Momma, look you won. Bullies don’t win.’”

“And I said, ‘Baby, they don’t. Because we’re going to go in there and impeach the motherf—er.'”

Anyone who has paid any attention to President Donald Trump would rightly guess that he wouldn’t let that kind of thing slide. When asked about it in the Rose Garden, he said he didn’t know her, but added his opinion about her statement.

“I thought her comments were disgraceful. This is a person I don’t know, I assume she’s new.”

Do you think she should apologize for her statement?

“I think she dishonored herself and she dishonored her family. Using language like that in front of her son and whoever else was there, I thought that was a great dishonor to her and to her family,” Trump added.

“I thought it was highly disrespectful to the United States of America.”

Trump was not the only one who was critical of her attack. In fact, members of Congress on both sides of the aisle spoke out against it.

The Hill reported that Missouri Democratic Rep. Lacy Clay did not approve. “I have never said that in a public setting. The choice of words is inappropriate.”

Maryland’s Democratic Rep. Elijah Cummings echoed the sentiment. “You cannot accomplish very much of anything unless you have civility and show respect for your colleagues. And I think those kind of comments do not take us in the right direction.”

Tlaib, despite the backlash, remains unapologetic. She issued a simple response about the matter on Twitter: “I will always speak truth to power. #unapologeticallyMe.”

She also grabbed attention for a map in her office. In a picture posted by BuzzFeed News’ Hannah Allam, a world map in the Michigan Democrat’s office shows Israel covered over with a post-it note saying “Palestine” and an arrow pointing to the country.

“Someone has already made a slight alteration to the map that hangs in Rashida Tlaib’s new congressional office,” Allam, who covers Muslim life in America, said in her tweet.

Rallying with MoveOn, pushing to impeach a president who has committed no impeachable offense, and displaying a map to show ideology rather than fact are just a few of the things she has done that illustrate what we have to look forward to over the next two years. If she continues to attack Trump, she may find herself in his sights the way Democratic Sen. Warren has.

It has not worked out so well for Warren. If Tlaib’s not careful, it may not work out well for her, either.
