Trump Trolls Media, Uses Insect Description for Some Illegals

Share

While President Donald Trump is well-known as the author of “The Art of the Deal,” he has also been dispensing lessons on the “art of the troll” by virtue of his tweets and actions that sometimes seem purposefully designed to stir outrage among his fiercest critics.

Liberals have ginned up the outrage machine in recent weeks in opposition to the Trump administration’s “zero tolerance” policy of strict enforcement of immigration laws at the border, which results in illegal immigrant children being temporarily separated from their families while their parents are processed and prosecuted.

The president issued a tweet-storm Tuesday morning with regard to the immigration enforcement controversy and squarely placed the ball in the court of congressional Democrats, while at the same time referencing criminal illegal immigrants in a non-human manner that is sure to be taken out of context — again — and drive liberals even madder.

Trump tweeted, “Democrats are the problem. They don’t care about crime and want illegal immigrants, no matter how bad they may be, to pour into and infest our Country, like MS-13. They can’t win on their terrible policies, so they view them as potential voters!”

The president’s use of the term “infest” — a descriptive term typically applied to insects or rodents — was quite obviously in reference to criminal illegal immigrants, such as members of the brutally sadistic MS-13 gang. But liberals and their Trump-hating media allies will falsely misconstrue that remark as applying to all immigrants.

Trump was just getting started with that tweet though, and followed it up with some facts about illegal immigrant children that the liberal media simply doesn’t want to hear.

“We must always arrest people coming into our Country illegally. Of the 12,000 children, 10,000 are being sent by their parents on a very dangerous trip, and only 2000 are with their parents, many of whom have tried to enter our Country illegally on numerous occasions,” Trump tweeted.

He then challenged his Democrat critics to actually do their jobs and change the immigration laws they don’t like, rather than continue to gripe about his enforcement of them.

Trump is absolutely right to call out Democrats for not doing anything other than complain about immigration laws they don’t like, especially when they hold the constitutionally mandated authority to change those laws as they see fit.

Do you enjoy how Trump trolls the Democrats and media?
His use of the term “infest” to describe the criminals that Democrat dithering on the border have allowed to come into the country — which will no doubt remind many of his prior use of the term “animals” to describe MS-13 gang members — actually serves to get his message even more attention, as the phrase trolls his critics into covering the tweets with their typical over-the-top outrage.

Republicans in Congress have done their part and put forward several immigration reform bills ranging from a conservative border security-centric wish-list to a more moderate compromise effort, and there is even a narrowly tailored bill that would deal solely with the separation of families issue, according to the New York Post.

But Democrats aren’t playing ball, according to The Hill, as Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer rejected consideration of any of the bills — he actually stated, “Legislation is not the way to go here when it’s so easy for the president to sign it” — which would mean that he wants the purportedly authoritarian fascist dictator Trump to handle the issue via executive action.

On Wednesday, Trump did exactly that, according to Fox News, signing an executive order that he said would stop the separation of children from parents, while still enforcing his administration’s “zero tolerance” policy on illegal immigration.

Whether that will satisfy Democrats remains to be seen. It seems unlikely, though, as liberals have made clear that they plan to use the illegal immigrant child issue as a cudgel during the upcoming midterms.

And it’s just as clear that Trump is likely to keep trolling them.
