A Virginia man has been arrested after police say he allegedly slashed the throat of a co-worker with a box cutter at a Walmart Distribution Center on Thursday.
According to WRIC, the incident happened at the Walmart Distribution Center in Dinwiddie County, Virginia.
At around 11 a.m., deputies responded to the sprawling warehouse after receiving a report of an altercation.

Raymond Allen, 53, was arrested and accused of slashing a male co-worker in the throat.

The dispute between Allen and the victim, whose name was not released, was related to the use of a piece of equipment.
A worker in the receiving department was reportedly looking for a piece of power equipment that he had previously used. However, the item in question somehow ended up in the shipping department. At that point, the fight began.

The victim was treated by a distribution center nurse and not transported to the hospital.
Allen faces one count of malicious wounding.
“To prove this charge a prosecutor would have to prove there’s malice in cutting of the skin, so that malice only needs to exist for a split second,” said WTVR legal analyst Todd Stone.
“The judge will look at whether he has a prior record or not, and the seriousness of the injury,” said Stone.
“Also what the victim wants to see happen, if he is convicted. That’s sort of a victim impact, but sentencing guidelines on a malicious wounding case are pretty significant,” he said.

The sentence in the crime can be for as long as 20 years.
Allen is being held without bond at Meherrin River Regional Jail until he appears in Dinwiddie General District Court.
This is not the first violent incident to take place at the distribution center.
In 2012, WWBT reported that a Walmart worker returned from a lunch break and shot his supervisor, wounding the man, before turning the gun on himself.
