Watch: Drunk Don Lemon Humiliates Himself on Air by Mistaking Reporter for Ex-Girlfriend
It’s becoming a tradition for CNN anchor Don Lemon to drink on the job and make a fool of himself every New Year’s Eve.
This year, Lemon and CNN anchor Brooke Baldwin were celebrating in New Orleans, where Lemon thought he spotted an old flame.
“I think I see a former college girlfriend in the crowd!” Lemon said, speaking just a little too happily.
A woman from the crowd waved back at Lemon and Baldwin, which seemed to confirm Lemon’s suspicion.
“Oh my God! Mom, if you are watching at home, do you remember Michelle?” the now-openly gay Lemon asked.
Baldwin expressed skepticism toward Lemon’s claims – probably because he seemed intoxicated.
“Are you serious? And she’s just randomly in the crowd at the Spotted Cat?” Baldwin asked.
As it turns out, the woman wasn’t Lemon’s ex-girlfriend. She is Careese Jackman, a reporter for New Orleans’ local WWL-TV.
“No, I am not Don Lemon’s ex-girlfriend,” Jackman said in response to the CNN footage.
Jackman was at the Spotted Cat with her co-workers to celebrate New Year’s Eve and waved at Don Lemon out of excitement.
It wasn’t until later that she found out Lemon said she was his ex-girlfriend.
This embarrassing, inebriated drunk moment is ironic considering how much Lemon hammered Supreme Court Justice Kavanaugh for drinking beer.
In early October, Lemon had an entire segment dedicated to Kavanaugh’s drinking habits.
In the segment Lemon suggested that people would be more likely to believe sexual assault accusations against Kavanaugh because he likes beer.
“If Judge Kavanaugh admits that he drank that much in the past, even though he swears he never sexually assaulted anyone, a lot of people are going to wonder if he did it,” Lemon said.
That’s as ridiculous as saying people will wonder if Lemon sexually assaulted anyone after drinking on New Year’s Eve.
Of course, drinking doesn’t usually turn normal people into predators. However, alcohol can definitely put people in humiliating situations like the embarrassing misunderstanding Lemon found himself at the center of.

I think CNN should recognize that letting hosts drink on-air is a bad idea.
