Chairman of the committee chosen to investigate the attacks in Benghazi, as well as attorney and South Carolina Congressman, Trey Gowdy has been vocal with his opinions.
He has now turned his attention to presidential candidate, Sen. Ted Cruz.
Gowdy has released a video taped on the bus of Sen. Marco Rubio. In the video, Gowdy directs his comments at Cruz saying, “The truth matters. So when you ran ads that have to be taken down because they’re factually deficient. When you run ads that they’re so fake that you Photoshop someone’s had on someone else’s body…Come on.”

“Run on your record,” Gowdy continued. “But don’t mislead my fellow South Carolinians with fake Facebook postings, ads that that can’t even withstand FCC scrutiny, and then photo-shopping pictures. Come on, you’re better than that.”

Recently, a Facebook page called Trey Gowdy Prayers wrote a deceptive post, claiming to be Gowdy announcing a switch in his endorsement from Rubio to Cruz.
This is not the first time Cruz’s honesty has come under scrutiny.
After the Iowa caucus, rumors that Dr. Ben Carson was leaving the presidential race were supposedly spread by the Cruz campaign.
Since then, his integrity has been a point of discussion for Donald Trump and Marco Rubio.
These accusations from someone as prominent in South Carolina as Gowdy could prove detrimental to Cruz’s campaign.

In response to the insinuations, Cruz accused Gowdy of spreading a “smear campaign.”
Rick Tyler, Cruz’s campaign spokesperson said, “Does the Marco Rubio campaign really believe it’s going to smear it’s way to victory?”
Although, there is no proof that Cruz was responsible for the fictitious Facebook post, Rubio’s senior adviser, Todd Harris said, “We don’t know whether the Cruz campaign specifically was behind this Facebook post or not. What we do know is that there is a culture of dishonesty that goes from top-to-bottom in the Cruz campaign.”
