Watch: MSNBC Reporter Can't Seem To Believe Voter's Response over Mueller Report

Share

It has been argued plenty of times before that the predominately liberal mainstream media is way off-base and out of touch when it comes to the average American voter.

The manner in which the media have reacted to the release of the Mueller report is a great example of such, as the media seem incapable of accepting the investigation’s conclusions of “no collusion, no obstruction” by President Donald Trump, even while most voters have long since moved on from the debunked Russian collusion and obstruction narrative.

That dichotomy was on display when MSNBC reporter Ali Vitali spoke in a Manchester, New Hampshire, diner with a voter named Harold Chase, who suggested it was time for Democrats — and presumably the party’s media mouthpieces — to drop the Mueller report issue and move on to other things.

“I do want to bring in one of the voters I’ve been talking to this morning, Harold Chase, and you’re someone who, now that you’ve seen the report come out, what are your thoughts?” Vitali asked.

“Well, my thoughts are, like I said earlier, that it’s just all false, the reports. There’s nothing in there that shows the president of the United States is guilty of anything,” Chase said.

“There’s no Russian collusion, there’s no obstruction. You know, they’re gonna try to find something, look in every corner, pick it apart and they’ll try and find something and run with it. And nothing is gonna happen,” he added.

Vitali asked, “So you said ‘they,’ I think you are talking about Democrats. When you say they’re going to run with it, do you think they should talk about this as they campaign for president?”

Is the mainstream media out of touch with the average American voter?

“Absolutely not, absolutely not,” Chase replied with no hesitation. “It’s just going to destroy them. They won’t get in. They won’t win in 2020 if they keep pushing this.”

Vitali asked, “What do you think, to you, the most important thing is now that this report is out? What do you want to see happen next?”

“Well, the report is out. I think they just need to move on and just drop it, you know. If they just keep going forward, they’re not going to get anywhere, you know, they’re just destroying themselves,” Chase said.

The reporter seemed somewhat taken aback by the voter’s ho-hum attitude with regard to her questions about the Mueller report. He seemed not to care much about it while she, likely as a result of the New York City/Washington, D.C. liberal bubble most reporters reside in, could think of nothing else more important that should be the primary focus for voters.

While that one voter in New Hampshire obviously doesn’t speak for everyone, his views on the Mueller report — and how Democrats ought to just “move on and drop it” — are a pretty fair representation of how the bulk of the country probably feels.

Democrats and the media have devoted an inordinate amount of attention over the past two years to the Russian collusion narrative — which conveniently has shifted to obstruction of justice, now that “collusion” has been fully debunked. Most Americans have long since pushed that story aside and would prefer to focus on topics such as the economy and jobs, health care, the illegal immigration situation at the southern border or foreign policy challenges abroad — among many other things that have nothing to do with Russian collusion or obstruction of an investigation.

Unfortunately, despite what this voter and countless other Americans want, Democrats and the media will probably continue to focus considerable attention on the findings of the Mueller report, likely to their detriment, while the rest of the country will impatiently wait for them to get around to talking about substantive issues for a change.
