Watch: Pitcher gets away with most vicious act possible from a mound
There’s a nasty pitch, and then there’s a nasty pitch.
A high school baseball game Friday in Cobb County, Georgia, produced one of the best, or worst, examples of the latter.
Junior Brayden Carey was at the plate for visiting East Coweta High.
He at first showed bunt but then called timeout, which was granted by the umpire.
The Wheeler pitcher, however, continued with his delivery and let the ball fly while Carey was standing outside the batter’s box.
The pitch drilled Carey in the back of the helmet.
Yeahhh…I think he hit me on purpose. #intentional #ohwell https://t.co/3QeRxBDf2I

While some kids might have responded by charging the mound or at least firing off some choice words in the pitcher’s direction, Carey kept his composure.
“I have too many great things going for me,” he said the next day on Twitter. “Can’t worry about something like this.”
Carey, who boasts a 4.0 GPA while playing baseball (pitcher/center fielder) and football (quarterback/wide receiver) and running track, said the pitcher wasn’t ejected.
No sir, he wasn’t tossed. This is High School

He could have been tossed under Georgia High School Association rules if the pitch had been deemed an “unsporting act” — which it certainly appeared to be.
East Coweta, however, got the last laugh, beating the Wildcats 12-11 in extra innings to remain undefeated in league play, according to The Newnan Times-Herald.
The Indians came back from deficits of 5-0 after three innings and 9-3 after five to run their record to 12-5 (8-0 in Region 2 7-A).
Peyton Ramey got the win from the mound for East Coweta and scored the winning run in the top of the eighth.
The two teams play again April 17.
