Watch: Winds So Fierce Porta Potties Sent Flying Through Air Like Rockets

Share

Life is full of little pleasures. Like, for example, an outdoor event on a sunshine-filled summer day, complete with family, friends, and a couple of flying toilets.

Residents in Commerce City, Colorado, were enjoying a day at the park when nature suddenly called. And when you gotta go, you gotta go.

Gabriel Flores managed to capture a video of the scene, focusing mostly on the stars of the show: the porta potties.

Seemingly out of nowhere, a violent microburst roared through the park, leaving somewhat of a dark stain on the day’s events.

Amid flying trash and escaping balloons, children and adults ran for cover. Mother nature focused her sense of humor on two porta potties, nestled cozily inside a semi-caged shelter on the edge of the grass.

The wind whisked the pair of porta potties off the ground and sent them hurling into a parking lot packed with vehicles. The first toppled over a minivan.

The second toilet mirrored somewhat of a scene straight out of the television series “Dr. Who.”  The porta-potty sailed high into the air, door open, with a mysterious liquid spraying down onto the ground.

The flying porta-potty finished the job with a few violent somersaults mid-air before making a crash landing — somewhere. The second was also lifted off the ground, the roof nearly torn off from the top.

Adults were seen shielding children from the crazy winds. Tents collapsed to the ground, soon looking more like giant sails at sea.

The video has since gone viral, with people loving the opportunity to crack a good potty joke. Today’s weather forecast, joked one Facebook user, was “partly cloudy with a 100% chance of urination.”

“Two reasons to stay away from porta-potties during a wind storm,” joked another social media user. “Reason Number One — and worse, reason Number Two.”

According to Denver news station KCNC-TV, it is unknown if anybody was seriously injured.

Meteorologist Chris Spears attributed the crazed wind storm to the “transfer of heat from the ground to the air,” which happens on clear, hot summer days.
