Former Los Angeles Clipper and current Detroit Piston Blake Griffin is being sued in a palimony lawsuit by the mother of his children, Brynn Cameron, per TMZ Sports.

In what is unlikely a coincidence, the lawsuit was filed on Valentine’s Day by Cameron’s lawyer, Bryan Freedman.

From all indications, it’s an acrimonious end to a turbulent relationship.

Trouble first struck the betrothed couple when Griffin reportedly wanted Cameron to sign a prenuptial agreement prior to their wedding.

When Cameron refused to do so, she claimed that Griffin called the whole thing off just one week before the wedding date, and then promptly went to party in Las Vegas without her.

The issue at heart of the lawsuit is that Cameron claims that she and Griffin came to an oral agreement that she would quit her career in sports marketing and interior design to focus on raising their two children.

At the time, the lawsuit alleges, Griffin was fully focused on obtaining a maximum deal NBA contract. For what it’s worth, Griffin did eventually sign a max deal for five years worth $171 million.

Cameron claims that Griffin went back on their oral agreement, saying he “promised explicitly that, whatever the future might hold, he would take care of [Cameron] financially and provide her a home for the rest of her life.”

Instead of keeping his promise, she says, Griffin immediately started dating celebrity Kendall Jenner after calling off the wedding.

The lawsuit also alleges that Griffin began his relationship with Jenner while Cameron and Griffin were in couples therapy.

Cameron claims she stopped receiving “full financial support commensurate with her lifestyle and her share of their joint property” while Griffin was dating Jenner.

The lawsuit accuses Griffin of “cruelly embarrassing his family with his public fawning over Kendall Jenner.”

“Cameron and their children are homeless and cash-strapped,” the lawsuit claims.

Cameron also claims to have played an instrumental role in Griffin’s max NBA contract.

The lawsuit notes that Griffin struggled to get along with his Clippers teammates and says Cameron’s coaching helped foster a healthier relationship with ex-Clippers star Chris Paul.

“[Cameron] strengthened Griffin’s bond with his teammates and allowed the organization to see a different side of his personality rather than the hard-partying man-child Griffin had been prior to their cohabitation,” the lawsuit reads.

The lawsuit needles Griffin, saying he should know how it feels to have a verbal bond broken after the Clippers traded him to the Pistons on Jan. 29. The Clippers reportedly helped Griffin decide to sign a max contract with Los Angeles after staging a mock jersey retirement as part of his recruiting pitch.

“Griffin himself, however, knows very well what breaching promises is all about. After all, Griffin had no problem trading Brynn Cameron, his former fiancee, and the mother of his 2 children, for reality television star Kendall Jenner,” the lawsuit says.

“Griffin cared more about the glamour of dating a Hollywood celebrity than the day-to-day responsibilities of being a father and family man,” the lawsuit adds.
