Fired College Coach Asked Students To Write His Academic Papers - Report
New allegations of misconduct have emerged about the women’s soccer coach at Yale University who was recently fired for his alleged involvement in the massive college bribery scheme.
Parents, including actresses Lori Loughlin and Felicity Huffman, have been charged with paying scheme ringleader William Singer to bribe college coaches and other insiders to get their kids into top colleges.
Federal authorities said 50 parents are accused of paying about $25 million in bribes through Singer.
One of those coaches was Yale soccer coach Rudy Meredith, who allegedly took bribes to help Yale applicants obtain “recruit” status in admissions, even though they didn’t play soccer.

Meredith was fired by Yale for his involvement in the scandal, but now new allegations of misconduct have surfaced about the former soccer coach.
According to the Yale Daily News, Meredith allegedly pressured some players on his team to help him complete academic work he needed to get his Master’s degree at Ohio University.
He reportedly pressured them to edit and write portions of his academic papers for his degree in recreation and sports science and coaching education, which he got in 2018.
Neither of the players, who spoke anonymously to the Yale Daily News, actually participated in doing any work for him.
According to the Daily News’ sources, this was brought to the attention of the Athletics Department and University President Peter Salovey.
“Both sources told the News that after conducting the investigation, the athletics administration, headed at the time by former director of Athletics Tom Beckett, took no action against Meredith despite numerous complaints from team members that one of the sources said spanned many years. Beckett retired from his position as director in 2018. He has since been replaced by the current Director of Athletics Vicky Chun,” Bill Gallagher and Skakel McCooey wrote in the Yale Daily News.
Yale spokesman Tom Conroy told the Daily News that the school does not share disciplinary information about employees.
“We are continuing to investigate his time here, and we will take all appropriate action necessary in light of what we find,” Conroy told the Yale Daily News.
“In considering what we say publicly about Mr. Meredith, we will balance the benefit of transparency with the baseline level of respect for privacy we owe every member of this community, and that we are compelled to uphold by law,” he added.

Meredith was reportedly central to blowing open the bribery case. Federal authorities were tipped off to the scandal by one of the parents involved in it, financial executive Morrie Tobin.
Tobin reportedly wore a wire when he met with Meredith, who allegedly was seeking a bribe from Tobin to get his daughter into Yale, reported the Wall Street Journal.
