Former NFL Pro Bowler Sentenced to 8 Years in Prison for Attempted Murder
A former cornerstone of Seattle’s Legion of Boom defense and two-time Super Bowl champion is heading to prison.
Brandon Browner was sentenced to eight years in prison on Tuesday for attempted murder, TMZ Sports reported.
Browner was accused of breaking into his ex-girlfriend’s apartment in La Verne, California last July.

Browner, 34, allegedly “chased her, dragged her and then smothered her in a carpet,” according to authorities. The two children of his ex-girlfriend were present when the incident occurred.
The former Pro Bowl cornerback was also accused of stealing the woman’s Rolex watch.
Browner was arrested and charged with various crimes, including attempted murder.
In court on Tuesday, Browner pleaded no contest to one count of attempted murder and two counts of willful child endangerment.
In exchange for that plea, the remaining charges of robbery, burglary, and false imprisonment were dropped, TMZ reported.
Browner was immediately placed back into custody after the hearing. He had been in jail since the arrest occurred last July.

The judge gave Browner 300 days time served for good behavior during the time he’s been in jail so far.
Browner won back-to-back Super Bowls as part of two teams. He was the starting cornerback on the Seahawks team that won Super Bowl XLVIII over the Broncos 43-8.
After that season Browner signed a deal with the New England Patriots and was the starting cornerback on the Pats team that defeated the Seahawks 28-24 to win Super Bowl XLIX.
Browner played in the Canadian Football League for five seasons before signing with the Seahawks in 2011. He was an original member of the outstanding defensive group nicknamed the Legion of Boom, and was named to the Pro Bowl in 2011.
He played just one year in New England and one year with the Saints. The Saints released him after the 2015 season. He re-signed with the Seahawks in 2016 but was cut before the season started. In 2018, he played in the American Flag Football League.
