Moments After Eagles Season Ends, Opponents Meet Them at Midfield To Pray
It often feels like professional sports are a much bigger deal than they actually are.
Yes, the euphoria of winning and the agony of defeat are powerful emotions that can often dictate how a fan feels following an epic game.
By the same token, it’s often important to be reminded of the more important things in life, and sports can definitely accomplish that, too.
The Philadelphia Eagles’ Super Bowl title defense came to a brutal and abrupt end on Sunday when a pass from quarterback Nick Foles careened off the usually sure-handed Alshon Jeffery and into the hands of Saints defensive back Marshon Lattimore.
And the game was sealed.

Unsurprisingly, Eagles fans took to social media to lament the haunting ending to their season.

But after the game was over, the Eagles and Saints players reminded everyone that there are far more important things that will indefinitely outlast a singular moment from a single game.
Immediately after the contest, players from both teams went to the center of the field and knelt in prayer.

Players in the picture included Foles, Saints captain Craig Robertson and a host of Pro Bowl-caliber players like Brandon Graham and Larry Warford.
Noted Christian and Saints tight end Benjamin Watson is also in the photo.
The photo taken of the Saints and Eagles players praying in a circle is a stark reminder that, for as many bad apples as there may be in the NFL, there are good people, too.
There have been several reminders of that through the season, including players like Case Keenum and Michael Pierce who have adorned their cleats with pro-Christian messages, that the NFL still has a lot of quality human beings in it.
Football has a varying degree of importance to a wide range of people.
But it should be universally agreed that seeing heated competitors become Christian brothers-in-arms at the drop of a hat is an awesome visual.
