Police investigating Cowboys star amid alleged social media 'hack'
Dallas Cowboys defensive lineman David Irving was accused of domestic violence in a strange series of tweets on his own account Monday.
One tweet said Irving had brought “the mother of his child to Texas … and beat her up.”
“Domestic vilance again,” said another, while a third said Irving is “going to jail.”

Some of the tweets apparently were deleted, but many were still there Tuesday afternoon. The first of those chronologically reads, “Profile hacked.”
On Sunday, a woman filed two police reports alleging domestic violence by the 24-year-old lineman, according to police in Frisco, Texas. The woman, who said she is Irving’s girlfriend, said he “dragged her out of the house by her hair causing pain,” according to the police report, but later said she was lying.
The Dallas Morning News reported late Monday that it had received a statement from Angela Sanchez, who has a 5-year-old daughter with Irving, in which she said she had made false allegations against him.

“I was very upset and made some allegations that were false at the time due to our vocal argument and my emotional state,” Sanchez said. “I had no intentions of getting David into trouble. I was just very emotional and upset … David did not put his hands on me at any time.”
Sanchez said she was “deeply sorry this has caused both of us so much unwanted and undue attention.”
Frisco police told the Morning News on Tuesday that they were still investigating Irving.
The 6-foot-7, 290-pound lineman reportedly addressed the tweets on his Facebook page.
“Excuse the posts,” Irving wrote. “My ex hacked me because I kicked her out for cheating … Again lol.”
He said Monday morning on Twitter that it wasn’t the first incident he had with the woman.

In November 2013, Irving was arrested and charged with domestic assault of his girlfriend while he was at Iowa State. The woman told police he held her down, cut off a large piece of her hair and punched her in the leg, where officers said they saw bruises. He was suspended from the team, but the charge was dropped in January 2014.
